The best Burr Brown DAC chips contain 30,000 "logic gates" (which allow the designer to control the D to A Conversion process), however the QBD contains 1,250,000 logic gates, giving Chord's designers 40 times the development capability and allowing them to optimize literally every aspect of the D to A Conversion process.

In addition a new digital PLL has completely eliminated data related jitter and driven random jitter to a previously undreamt of level of less than 3pS cycle to cycle. As a result the QBD76 resolves 40dB more data than the best DAC chips on the market and delivers a stunning sonic performance unmatched by any other DAC on the planet.
